# Natural Disaster Map > Natural Disaster Map is a free, English-language global view of natural hazards from USGS, NASA EONET and GDACS. Explore satellite imagery, agency reports, hourly briefings and public feeds on an interactive globe. It is independent of these agencies and does not issue emergency warnings. Use these resources to read and cite agency reports. Coverage is incomplete and subject to revision. Report lists use M 4.5+ earthquakes; the globe shows M 2.5+. Satellite heat detections are not confirmed wildfires. Nearby population is not people affected. Archived reports are last known information, not evidence that a hazard ended. Hourly briefings highlight changes over the past hour and 24 hours, with source evidence and publication times. Missing comparisons, delayed updates and incomplete coverage are labelled. Storm reports distinguish observation, advisory and retrieval times, and name what an agency did not give. Forecasts are not observations. Follow original agency links and official warnings. Search by place name or decimal coordinates for nearby reports. Near means within 500 km of the reference point, on the map’s Nearby card and on place pages alike: a distance to where each agency locates its report, not an affected area. Place pages (https://naturaldisastermap.com/place/, listed in the sitemap when they list a report) add what agencies place in a country or region, and say why each report is listed. NWS alerts cover the United States; a location lookup does not guarantee coverage, and some alerts have no mapped boundary. Satellite coverage is regional, imagery can be delayed or unavailable, and Clear Earth is background imagery. Shared links preserve the requested map view; live reports may change and expired imagery may be unavailable. Map and report exports include attribution and timestamps in the selected timezone for offline reading. Export time is not observation time, and a snapshot can contain missing data or imagery. ## Start here - [About Natural Disaster Map (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/about.md): Purpose, features, source credits and essential limitations. - [Reports (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/events.md): Source-backed reports and original publisher links; follow report URLs for individual Markdown. - [Interactive global map](https://naturaldisastermap.com/): Interactive globe with dated regional satellite imagery, official cyclone overlays and USGS M 2.5+ earthquakes. ## Hazard reports - [Earthquakes (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/earthquakes.md): Current reports, source coverage, update timing and limitations. - [Wildfires (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/wildfires.md): Current reports, source coverage, update timing and limitations. - [Tropical cyclones and severe storms (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/cyclones.md): Current reports, source coverage, update timing and limitations. - [Volcano reports (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/volcanoes.md): Current reports, source coverage, update timing and limitations. - [Floods (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/floods.md): Current reports, source coverage, update timing and limitations. - [Droughts (Markdown)](https://naturaldisastermap.com/droughts.md): Current reports, source coverage, update timing and limitations. ## Feeds and source status - [JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed.json): Current reports with source links and timestamps; no authentication required. - [Atom feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed.xml): Attributed updates for feed readers. - [Feed status JSON](https://naturaldisastermap.com/status.json): Per-agency availability and freshness. - [Sitemap index](https://naturaldisastermap.com/sitemap.xml): Canonical current and archived HTML reports. - [About](https://naturaldisastermap.com/about): Purpose, features and source credits. ## Feeds by hazard - [Earthquakes — Atom](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/earthquakes.xml): For feed readers; items without an update time are in the JSON Feed only. - [Earthquakes — JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/earthquakes.json): Up to 25 of the strongest M 4.5+ reports, with attribution, source links and timestamps. - [Wildfires — Atom](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/wildfires.xml): For feed readers; items without an update time are in the JSON Feed only. - [Wildfires — JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/wildfires.json): Current reports, with attribution, source links and timestamps. - [Tropical cyclones — Atom](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/cyclones.xml): For feed readers; items without an update time are in the JSON Feed only. - [Tropical cyclones — JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/cyclones.json): Current reports, with attribution, source links and timestamps. - [Severe storms — Atom](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/storms.xml): For feed readers; items without an update time are in the JSON Feed only. - [Severe storms — JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/storms.json): Current reports, with attribution, source links and timestamps. - [Volcano reports — Atom](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/volcanoes.xml): For feed readers; items without an update time are in the JSON Feed only. - [Volcano reports — JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/volcanoes.json): Current reports, with attribution, source links and timestamps. - [Floods — Atom](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/floods.xml): For feed readers; items without an update time are in the JSON Feed only. - [Floods — JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/floods.json): Current reports, with attribution, source links and timestamps. - [Droughts — Atom](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/droughts.xml): For feed readers; items without an update time are in the JSON Feed only. - [Droughts — JSON Feed](https://naturaldisastermap.com/feed/droughts.json): Current reports, with attribution, source links and timestamps.
